Farm Feast: A Vegetarian Bounty on Saturday 11 February 2023
February 11 @ 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm
What a concept for a pig farm! A Vegetarian Feast.
Despite our name, pigs only take up about 1% of our farm at any one time. Our market garden is relatively huge, it’s bountiful and this is the perfect time of year to see how magical our vegetables and fruit can be.
Vegetarians are always welcome at our farmhouse table and often make up a fair percentage of our guests. So, on Saturday 11th February, we dedicate an entire feast to the humble veg and its mate seasonal summer fruit.
We’ll be mixing up the jewels from our abundant garden (maybe warm tomatoes, earthy eggplants, smokey padrons and cucumbers) with our pickled and fermented flavours such as shaved fennel, garlic scapes, wombok or dilly beans. Lunch extends into a farm tour so you can see the land that provided the bounty.
Speaking of fruit, your lunch will be matched with crisp and fulsome wines from new Tasmanian makers.
Please note that Bessie our beautiful Jersey cow doesn’t produce soy milk, so we will be using dairy, as well as eggs from our free-range chooks and ducks, laid especially for your long lunch.
